Maruša Majer se je po študiju primerjalne književnosti vpisala na študij dramske igre in umetniške besede. Že kot študentka, zlasti pa pozneje kot svobodna umetnica je sodelovala z mnogimi neinstitucionalnimi skupinami in igrala v večini slovenskih gledališč ter v tem obdobju ustvarila osupljivo število vlog.
