Robert Gene "Red" West (March 8, 1936 – July 18, 2017) was an American actor, film stuntman and songwriter. He was known for being a close confidant and bodyguard for rock and roll singer Elvis Presley.
Red West was a close friend of Elvis Presley and a member of his inner circle, known as "The Memphis Mafia". He appeared in 16 of Elvis' films, wrote songs for him and other stars, and served as his bodyguard and driver.
