John Reford Ewart (1928–1994), actor, was born on 26 February 1928 in Melbourne, only child of Victorian-born parents Alfred Adam Ewart, insurance agent, and his wife Jennie Grace Lois Madge, née Macaulay.
John Ewart came to prominence as a 16-year-old in 1944 in Melbourne New Theatre’s Tomorrow the World playing Emil Bruckner, a fanatical child Nazi.
