Wanniarachchige Malini Senehelatha Fonseka, popularly known as Malini Fonseka (Sinhala:මාලිනී ෆොන්සේකා) (born 30 April 1947, in Kelaniya, Sri Lanka) is a Sri Lankan actress, theatre artist and a director.
Malini Fonseka is a veteran actress and producer who has starred in over 140 movies and won several awards. She is also known for her roles in stage dramas, teledramas and international films.

Malini Fonseka started her acting career with stage dramas. In 1963, she made her entry to stage dramas with "Noratha Ratha". In 1968, Fonseka won the best stage drama actress national award for her performance in Akal Wessa. She has since played the lead role in 14 stage dramas.

Dec 5, 2017 · One day some students from Vidyalankara came over looking for an actress to play the lead role: a problem because the University had no women, only boys and monks. The dancing teacher at Gurukula considered Malini, asked her, and after she got permission from her family, acted in it.

She was educated, firstly in Nugegoda, later at Gurukula Maha Vidyalaya in Kelaniya, where she met and befriended some of her later collaborators: Wimal Kumar da Costa (a classmate), H. D. Premaratne, and Donald Karunaratne.
