Jayalath Manoratne was born on 12 June 1948 in Dehipe, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. He was an actor and writer, known for Kaha Ira Pamula (2003), Sisila Giniganee (1993) and Deweni Yuddhaya (2023). He was married to Tamara Jayanthi. He died on 12 January 2020 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
