In 2012, while organizing files for a book, Ricardo van Steen collected more than 30 furniture design creations throughout his professional career, whether as an art director, film director, set designer, or architect.
Ricardo van Steen (São Paulo, 1958) é um cineasta, fotógrafo, artista gráfico e diretor de arte brasileiro. Ricardo van Steen estudou desenho, pintura e gravura na década de 1970. Aos dezessete anos, estudou fotografia no Foto Cine Clube Bandeirante e começou a fotografar.

Ricardo van Steen (São Paulo, Brazil, 1958) graduated with a degree in applied art but shifted his focus to visual communication and film. He has loved films since he was a small boy, thanks to his mother who was the director of the cinema theater in São Paulo, so Ricardo spent his summer holidays watching films.
