Nick Rivera is a DOE/MIT School of Science fellow working with Prof. Marin Soljacic on nanophotonics and quantum electrodynamics. His research interests include extending quantum field theory to nanophotonics, enabling forbidden light-matter interactions, and tailoring selection rules via shaped polariton wavepackets.
Bio. I am currently a postdoc at Harvard, with a Junior Fellowship from the Harvard Society of Fellows. In 2025, I will be moving to Cornell University as an Assistant Professor in the School of Applied and Engineering Physics.
Nick Rivera is a physicist who studies the interactions between matter and electromagnetic fields. He works on topics such as photonic quasiparticles, exotic lasers, quantum nonlinear optics, and 2D materials.
Nicholas Rivera, Chia Wei Hsu, Bo Zhen, Hrvoje Buljan, John D. Joannopoulos, and Marin Soljačić. “Controlling directionality and dimensionality of radiation by perturbing separable bound states in the continuum.”
Dr. Nick Rivera is a junior fellow at Harvard University and a Ph.D. candidate at MIT Physics. He works on theoretical and computational science, condensed matter physics, quantum photonics, and quantum information science.
