He scored music for Marathi plays, films and radio plays. His songs became popular in the 1960’s through singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar and Arun Date, among others.

After a few years, he made his debut on All India Radio and started working for Akashwani's Nagpur station in the 60s.
