John Beckett (born 1958) is an English musician, actor and record producer. He is best known for being a former guitarist of Adam and the Ants under the name Johnny Bivouac, during which time he recorded the track "Deutscher Girls" with the band, later a UK Top 15 hit single.
The first line-up I saw featured Adam singing and playing guitar occasionally, Andy Warren on bass (a thin, gaunt figure described in Ants publicity as being called Winkle and Watson, for some reason), the handsome Dave Barbe on drums and a guy called Johnny Bivouac on guitar. Johnny Bivouac. Johnny was guitarist with Adam and the Ants 1977 -78. He's written the Film Scores to 'Love, Honour and Obey', 'The Wee Man', To Be Someone' and 'Miss The Kiss'. He also played the part of Strings in the BBC cult series 'Operation Good Guys'
The song was first recorded in August 1977 at Free Range Studios with Mark Ryan on guitar; this version appears in the actual film (in the same scene depicted on the single sleeve). It was performed at a John Peel session on 23 January 1978, with new guitarist Johnny Bivouac.

Oct 11, 2014 · First band on is Johnny Bivouac’s Lastarza… they’re fresh and entertaining but apart from that all you can say is they’re like the Ants. Then Duncan’s band Martian Dance have their moment in the limelight… All the band are old Ants fans and this obviously influences them a lot.
