The airline's sole shareholder is the Gulf Air Group Holding Company, which holds the aviation assets of Bahrain Mumtalakat, the sovereign wealth fund of the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Gulf Air Group Holding board on December 5, 2022, announced the appointment of Jeffrey Goh as its group chief executive officer.
The holding company aims to improve coordination amongst the various entities within the group in order to enhance the contribution of the aviation sector to Bahrain’s economy and maximise stakeholder value. The group is the sole shareholder of Gulf Air (Bahrain’s national carrier), Bahrain Airport Company, and Gulf Aviation Academy.
Brief. Established in 2010, the Gulf Air Group Company was formed to consolidate Mumtalakat’s aviation holdings, with the goal of fostering collaboration and optimizing stakeholder value. As the sole shareholder, we play a crucial role in transforming and modernizing Bahrain’s aviation sector.
