Jan 25, 2022 · Family Tree Clinic’s fifty-year legacy of providing comprehensive, sliding-fee sexual health care and education is bookended by the leadership of two Macalester graduates. Karla Ekdahl ’69 cofounded the clinic in 1971 and served as its first executive director.
The Karla Ekdahl Fund honors the 23-year service of Karla Ekdahl, a Director Emeritus at Project Success, a nonprofit organization that serves Minneapolis Public Schools students. The fund supports students' access to meaningful experiences that ignite their imaginations and help them achieve their dreams.
Karla Ekdahl started their work experience in 1993 as the Director of Customer Experience at Hearth & Home Technologies. In 2007, they worked as a consultant at Red Wing Shoe Co. Then, in 2012, they became a certified massage therapist at Roots Hair Salon and Day Spa.
May 2, 2022 · Project Success, a program that connects students to their purpose, created the Karla Ekdahl Access Fund to honor her 25 years of volunteer service. The fund ensures students have access to Project Success programming with no barriers.
The Project Success Board of Directors is a cohesive group of talented people who are passionate about helping young people succeed and willing and able to put in the time, energy, and resources to ensure that Project Success can maintain and grow its unique programming.
