Krsto Papić (7 December 1933 – 7 February 2013) [2] was a Croatian screenwriter and film director whose career spanned over five decades. He is generally considered among the best directors of former Yugoslavia and the only director from Croatia that can be counted among the Yugoslav Black Wave .
Krsto Papić (Vučji dol, 7. prosinca 1933. – Zagreb, 7. veljače 2013. [1]) bio je hrvatski scenarist i filmski redatelj čija se karijera protezala kroz pet desetljeća. Općenito ga smatraju jednim od najboljih redatelja bivše Jugoslavije i jedinim redateljem iz Hrvatske koji se može ubrojiti u jugoslavenski Crni val.

Krsto Papic was born on 7 December 1933 in Vucedol, Montenegro, Yugoslavia. He was a director and writer, known for Kad mrtvi zapjevaju (1998), The Rat Savior (1976) and Prica iz Hrvatske (1991). He was married to Dr. Jadranka Stefanac-Papic. He died on 7 February 2013 in Zagreb, Croatia.

Aug 2, 2013 · Krsto Papić, a renowned Croatian documentary and fiction director, the author of some of the best achievements in Croatian cinema, passed away on Thursday, 7 February 2013, at the age of 79. The memorial service takes place on Tuesday, 12 February, 11am, at Zagreb’s Tuškanac cinema.
