Justice K. Chandru (born 1951), is an Indian advocate and former judge of Madras High Court. Chandru has disposed of 96,000 cases during his tenure as a Judge. Chandru is known for a case which took place in 1993 when he was practising as a lawyer, to which the film Jai Bhim (2021) is dedicated. [citation needed]
Nov 21, 2021 · Chandru was born in a middle class orthodox family in Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli, on May 8, 1951. He has an elder sister, and is the third of four brothers. His father, an Indian Railways employee, moved the family to Chennai when Chandru was a schoolboy; soon after, he lost his mother.
Nov 4, 2021 · Chandru was known for fighting against caste discrimination and for the rights of backward communities without even charging a single rupee as fees. He was made an Additional Judge of the High Court on July 31, 2006, and was made a permanent Judge on November 9, 2009.
