Erich Hoeber is an American screenplay writer and producer, who started his career with the film Montana (1998), followed by Whiteout (2009). Hoeber's breakthrough came with Lionsgate's action comedy Red (2010) and its sequel Red 2 (2012). His other projects include The Meg (2018).
The film was directed by Peter Berg from a script by brothers Jon and Erich Hoeber and stars Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård, Brooklyn Decker, Rihanna in her feature film debut, Tadanobu Asano, Hamish Linklater and Liam Neeson. Filming took place in Hawaii and on USS Missouri.
