Wilfred Jackson (January 24, 1906 – August 7, 1988) was an American animator, arranger, composer and director best known for his work on the Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphonies series of cartoons and the Night on Bald Mountain / Ave Maria segment of Fantasia from Walt Disney Productions.

Wilfred Jackson passed away on August 7, 1988, in Balboa Island, Newport Beach, California, United States. He was posthumously named a Disney Legend in 1998. One of the characteristics of the Disney studio was, none of us tried to keep what we had from anybody else. It was a real team effort.

Jul 7, 2020 · Wilfred Jackson: I was born in Chicago in 1906, and moved with my family in about 1913 to Glendale, where I attended grammar school and Glendale High School. I had always been interested in making animated cartoons; in fact, in school I would draw figures on the corners of my textbook pages and turn the books into flip books.
