Edwin Carewe ( Chickasaw Nation, [1] March 3, 1883 – January 22, 1940) was a Native American motion picture director, actor, producer, and screenwriter. Early life and education. Jay John Fox was born on March 3, 1883, in Gainesville, Texas. [1] . His parents were Franklin Marion Fox and Sallie J. Priddy Fox. [1]
