Sandesh shandilya was born on 19th feb 1968 and grew up in Agra, the city of Taj. His father was a professor of military science. At an early age Sandesh found himself attracted to art of music and decided to train in Indian classical music from Shri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra , Delhi. He came to bombay at the age of 21 and started with assisting a well known music arranger Surinder Sodhi. Later he also started training under Ustad Sultan Khan, the Sarangi Maestro.
