Martin Gies (born November 2, 1951 in Lüdenscheid) is a German director and screenwriter. Life. Martin Gies, the younger brother of the director Hajo Gies, graduated from the Kaiser-Karls-Gymnasium in Aachen in 1969 and then studied directing at the Munich University of Television and Film. From 1975 to 1979 he worked as a freelance writer.
