  5. OVERVIEW OF THE TECHNIQUE. The subscapularis-sparing approach can be considered for all patients with an intact rotator cuff undergoing TSA for various causes. It has been originally described by Lafosse and col-leagues16 for patients with primary osteoarthritis of the shoulder.
