Robert James Fischer (March 9, 1943 – January 17, 2008) was an American chess grandmaster and the eleventh World Chess Champion. A chess prodigy, he won his first of a record eight US Championships at the age of 14. In 1964, he won with an 11–0 score, the only perfect score in the history of the tournament.

Robert William Fisher (born April 13, 1961) is an American fugitive wanted for allegedly killing his family and blowing up the house in which they lived in Scottsdale, Arizona, on April 10, 2001. Fisher served in the United States Navy and later worked as a firefighter and in the medical field.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Bob Fisher, the world’s preeminent yachting journalist and one of the top America’s Cup historians who also was a champion sailor, has died. He was 85. Fisher died of cancer Monday at his home in Lymington, England, daughter Alice Davies confirmed in an email to The Associated Press.
