The New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC; Māori: Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga) is a New Zealand government agency formed to assist with creating and promoting New Zealand films. It was established under the New Zealand Film Commission Act 1978 (as amended in 1981, 1985, 1988, 1994 and 1999).

2 days ago · The New Zealand Film Commission has appointed producer Ainsley Gardiner as Head of Funding, after a raft of restructuring, and raised the funding cap on feature film production investment to $2.5m. Gardiner, of Ngāti Awa, Te Whānau-a-Apanui, Ngāti Pikiao and Te Whakatōhea tribal descent, produced two of Taika Waititi's short films Two Cars, One Night and Tama Tu .
