Sönke Lars Neuwöhner wuchs in Hamburg auf und studierte von 1985 bis 1992 Philosophie in Berlin und Paris mit dem Abschluss Magister Artium. Im Anschluss daran arbeitete er einige Jahre als Journalist und Redakteur beim Berliner Stadtmagazin Tip.
