Devon Toews (/ d ə ˈ v ɑː n ˈ t eɪ v z / də-VAHN TAYVZ; born February 21, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). Nicknamed " Tazer ", Toews was drafted 108th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft .
