He continued his education at Hindu College, Amritsar, and Punjab University and completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Economics in 1952 and 1954. Then he completed Triplos in Economics from St.Johns College, Cambridge. After returning to India, Singh served as a teacher at Panjab University.
