The second best would be for the Unpaywall developer to help the Bypass Paywalls Clean developer to enable the latter's user script to defeat the wsj.com and ft.com paywall. If you find a better solution, hopefully a transparent one that works on every website, please let us all know!

Jul 19, 2020 · Unpaywall.com is specifically for academic journals—regular paywall jumps don’t work on them. It requires a doi listing as an input. Ideally a shortcut could scrape the doi off a shared webpage, but that is well beyond my skillset (so far), thus my ask.

Jan 25, 2021 · have it as a shortcut on my iOS devices - if you want to know how it works as far as the coding side not probably the best person to explain that … but if you just want to know the mechanics of it working it goes like this: I open something that is behind a paywall (say a NYTimes article), I select the little share icon in my chrome browser, I navigate to unpaywall in the list, it asks me if I want to use once/always, once I select permission it opens the article in safari.
Apr 10, 2023 · Dude, thank you. I had to do some extra stuff to get it to work, but I think it worked, lol. I saved the CRX file to a folder, then used 7zip to extract it, and then in chrome://extensions/ I did "load unpacked" and navigated to that folder, and it loaded. When I just loaded
