The Institute of Organic Farming, UAS, Dharwad is presently engaged in research programmes to study productivity, profitability, sustainability, quality and input use efficiency of conventional and organic production systems across different agro-climatic regions of Northern Karnataka.
The University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad was established on October 1, 1986. The University has 5 Colleges, 30 Research Stations, 6 Extension Education Units, 5 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and ATIC.
The College is one of the premier institutes in Karnataka for imparting education and conduct of research and extension activities in agriculture. The College plays an important role in human resource development in the field of agricultural sciences.
Library system at UAS, Dharwad mainly comprises four teaching campus libraries (viz. Dharwad, Vijaypur, Hanumanmatti and Sirsi) and other satellite/micro libraries spread across many sub centers like diploma centers, faculty departments, research stations and extension centers.

Saidapur Farm is the oldest Farm coming under the MARS, Dharwad. The farm is located on Dharwad Belgum Highway, opposite to UAS, Dharwad main block, 3 km from the Dhrawd located at 15° 26’ 31.17’’ N latitude, 75 cm° 07’ E longitude and at an altitude of 678 m above mean sea level.
