Oct 12, 2022 · And I’m really pleased to say that the dreaded teal/yellow wash that has afflicted their recent ‘Cat's Eye’ and ‘Red Sonja’ 4K releases is completely absent here. The new colour grade, thanks to the inclusion of WCG and HDR, darkens the image slightly and adds a nice new amount of depth to the picture – shadows on faces and clothes are enhanced, giving much more dimensionality to the picture, without losing any detail in these new depths.

The Sony XR A80J has a peak brightness of 640 nits at 1% window, 670 nits at 2% and 640 nits at 5% with a drop-down to 591 nits on the industry-standard 10% window size. With a 100% window size the brightness is 135 nits.

There is a brief title card at the front of the film acknowledging the studios involved in the remaster and a short description of the work that was done (35mm rescan / print clean-up etc).
