May 12, 2021 · You "can" with the proper redcat diagonal, but I don't know why you would want to. The focal length is too small for planets and the aperture is too small for deep sky observation, its going to be extremely underwhelming, it will be like looking through a finder scope (an $800 finderscope).
Out of the box stock direct comparison of them the redcat wins at everything except for scale/ style points (I’m a sucker for hardbodies). Literally bought my bronco maybe two months ago and sunk a good chunk of cash into it, if I would have known the little ascent was coming out I may have made a different choice haha.
ADMIN MOD • Redcat Volcano 16, no throttle, steering works Any idea what broke on my Volcano? It steers fine and the blue light blinks when i use forward/reverse throttle, but the wheels dont turn.
Have an RDS and a RDX. RDX really is the better of the two imo if you want to build but if you want rtr the RDS electronics are actually pretty good. Only issue I've ever had with Redcat is a failed receiver. Definitely check out RoadsideRC's videos for adjusting the steering.
Mar 5, 2021 · one of my cva's sheered and redcat unfortunately wouldn't cover it under warranty . so i looked at it as an opportunity to get the portal upgrade for the gen 7. but wouldnt you know, amazon had the gen 8 pack for 150. ended up swapping all the gen7 electronics over to the gen8 pack. already had plans to change the body to the proline 4runner thats been sitting in the garage, now just need to paint and mount it.

Redcat has a pretty bad reputation among the "serious" crawling community. A few reviews of the Ascent and the Ascent Fusion point out how terribly engineered the front axle layout is. Panhard bar mounts on the wrong side, the upper link is on the wrong side without room to correct it, limited front shock travel to compensate for poor geometry etc.
Dec 27, 2023 · The 533 + redcat at 250 mm focla length will give a plate scale of 3.1 arc-seconds / pixel and a 2.59 degrees field of view. The field of view is nice for the corona, and the plate scale is a little low but will work. The corona has a huge dynamic range, so bracket.
Feb 10, 2024 · The Redcat 51 has a very tiny edge on spot size, basically unnoticeable unless pixel peeping at 100% However, the FRA300 Pro is like a tank compared to the Redcat 51, just a lot heavier and larger. Both are superb for use on full frame sensors
