BUT we can't because the judicial system failed us. And that to me is the point of the Michael Peterson story.

Feb 18, 2021 · Microscopic owl feathers were found along with some of her own hair in Kathleen Peterson’s hand. Michael might be a straight up Lex Luthor and might have harvested owl feathers from some rando owls and planted them in her hair. Weird shit happens. Daily. This seems like a stretch.
Jun 7, 2022 · Todd and Clayton seem to be long-term alcoholics from an early age. Michael Peterson & Kathleen Peterson seemed to be alcoholic parents as well. I've never heard that about Kathleen other than she liked her wine. While you might be right, it feels like a stretch to diagnose him after a few raving videos.

The details just don't add up. The picture of her head injuries are not consistent with a fall or beating. There is no bruising or skull fracture.

Also, apart from being bias towards Michael Peterson and leaving out lots of critical evidence and data points, the Staircase ‘documentary’ pushed this homophobic / narrow-minded-Durham-residents-can’t-accept-that-Mike-and-Kathleen-had-an-open-marriage-and-that-Mike-is-bisexual narrative (as the reason Michael Peterson got convicted), which is completely outrageous.

Peterson is caught by surprise and has the classic response liars use to distance themselves from the truth. They were in debt well over $100,000.
Jun 8, 2018 · Today Netflix released a 13-episode series of Jean-Xavier de Lestrade's decades-long coverage of Kathleen's Peterson's death. I find Michael Peterson a fascinating character whose overconfidence in the believability of his fabrications were his undoing. I believe that his unbidden "she's still breathing," is the first indication of his guilt.
