Although shot at resolutions of up to 8K, it looks to have been finished with a 2K Digital Intermediate (DI), resulting in a 4K upscale on this disc, although the 2160p presentation, framed in the movie's original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1 widescreen, is a suitably marvellous-looking rendition nonetheless, making for an impressive 4K debut for the studio.

Mar 29, 2020 · We take it for granted now, but Guardians was the first really expansive MCU entry, and it delivered its galaxy-hopping escapades with visual majesty, integrating some fabulous grand-scale action into the mix, and delivering largely seamless effects at every stage. Detail remains impressively rendered, from the weathered look of the ships and costumes to the battle-ravaged landscapes, to the fleet of star fighters and gigantic enemy destroyers.

Disney and Marvel have officially set James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 8/1, with the Digital release expected on 7/7. You can expect Dolby Atmos audio and HDR10 high dynamic range on the 4K SKU. The Blu-ray Disc will include 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
Jun 22, 2023 · Personally, I think matte steelbooks tend to suck the life out of the colours in the artwork and make for a muted and dull finish. On the plus side, matte steelbooks do not show fingerprints so there is that! I got Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 from HMV on Monday and have to say that the artwork looks better in the opening post of this thread ...
