Oct 10, 2024 · Great interview. Relatable to lots of us, I have had friends who have had similar struggles with alcohol. For me it was a gateway to other things that I struggled with at points, but lots of that interview I can relate first hand and I had tears in my eyes towards the end, particularly the impact on those around him and his parents pride at him turning it around.
Oct 9, 2024 · His nickname was Furious George, Captain Angry (because he never smiled on the pitch) and more recently Starman. He was exactly the type of player you would want in the trenches with you've facing a battle. However off the pitch he was quiet and shy, really nice and caring and surprisingly humble and normal.
Sep 27, 2024 · Just look at some of the tackles that got put in on George Best in his highlight videos and, of course, Pele was literally kicked out of the 1966 World Cup by thuggish defenders - the likes of Messi and Ronaldo, excellent as they are, would not have been as good in bygone days without any protection from thigh-high tackles and people deliberately playing the man, but they would still have been among the very best.
Sep 22, 2024 · If you are prepared to travel that bit extra, go along the A66 to Penrith and stay a night at the George Hotel. I did and I do not regret a moment. Taking out the town for a second as i don't know what it is like to shop there and when I stayed overnight we didn't browse the shops or go to the pubs and bars, the hotel looks very swanky, lavish and posh inside.

Barnes and Bennett many not be the best, but they certainly aren't biased against Sunderland. Please leave match commentary on Radio Newcastle.

Listening tonight it’s constant underhand digs, ill informed (at best) back handed compliments.
