I feel that people hyper-fixate on its aesthetic qualities (colors, angle, mise-en-scène, etc.) when appraising the film, often overlooking how rich it is intellectually.

Apr 25, 2016 · Chungking Express is probably the most similar to Fallen Angels . In the Mood for Love is also a definite essential. It's probably the most critically acclaimed film of the 2000s, and one of the truly great film romances. You could call it the middle film of another loose trilogy, bookended by Days of Being Wild and 2046.

Sep 12, 2022 · Chunking Express was a joy to watch. It ended with a hopeful Tony Leung saying "Anywhere you want to take me." I liked how the movie made me feel- light and full of hope. The soundtrack I think was also cheerful with that Cranberry song. On Fallen Angels- Man I cried to be honest.
Jun 19, 2022 · For a while Criterion had both the alternate cuts and original cuts of the movies in the Wong Kar-wai boxset on the criterion channel. yes, it's thankfully still on the channel. if you can find the kino or artificial eye bluray at a good price, be sure to snag it! He never gave WKW a four full stars - always saw him as merely aesthetically interesting. Funny enough, the only one he gave four stars to was his short, The Hand in Eros.
That's another thing of Mr.Wong's films. They all have such carefully placed tracks in key scenes, like for example: Chungking Express (1994).
