Injured after committing a bank robbery, John Taylor is desperate to find a place to hide out and approaches the home of Warwick Wilson. John manages to get himself invited into the house by posing as a friend of a friend and spinning a sob story of lost luggage and a violent mugging.
What would happen if the tightly-wound Dr. Niles Crane (of TV's Frasier) finally lost it? In The Perfect Host, David Hyde Pierce provides a glimpse into one such possible outcome – with excellent results. As he prepares to host a perfect dinner party, Mr. Pierce is interrupted by a stranger at the door purportedly seeking refuge from a mugging.
The Perfect Host is a 2010 American black comedy psychological thriller film co-written and directed by Nicholas Tomnay in his feature directorial debut, and starring David Hyde Pierce and Clayne Crawford. It is a remake of Tomnay's short film The Host (2001).
