Two licensed vaccines are currently available against Orthoebolavirus zairense, the virus that causes Ebola: the 1-dose rVSVΔG-ZEBOV-GP (ERVEBO [Merck]) and the 2-dose regimen of Ad26.ZEBOV and MVA-BN-Filo (Zabdeno/Mvabea [Johnson & Johnson]).

Ebola virus infection is a notifiable disease. If infection is suspected, the patient should be put in isolation and all healthcare workers in contact with the patient should wear personal protective equipment.
