  2. Maastricht University (abbreviated as UM; Dutch: Universiteit Maastricht) is a public research university in Maastricht, Netherlands. Founded in 1976, it is the second youngest of the thirteen Dutch universities. In 2021, 22,383 students studied at Maastricht University, 56% of whom were foreign students, with over 4,000 employees.

In the skillslab, you’ll also practice medical skills, such as how to give a patient bad news. After completing a master’s in Medicine, you can call yourself a medical doctor and then you can specialise, for example, as a surgeon or pediatrician.

  6. Application & enrolment. If you would like to study at Maastricht University (UM), you will have to send in your application via Studielink. UM will then check whether your previous education meets UM’s admission requirements and will notify you of the outcome. If you meet the requirements, you qualify for admission.
