Kirill Garrievich Petrenko (Russian: Кирилл Гарриевич Петренко, Latin script: Kirill Garrievič Petrenko; born 11 February 1972) is a Russian-Austrian conductor. He is chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic.
Kirill Petrenko has been chief conductor and artistic director of the Berliner Philharmoniker since the 2019/20 season. Born in Omsk in Siberia, he received his training first in his home town and later in Austria.
Von 2013 bis 2020 war Kirill Petrenko Generalmusikdirektor der Bayerischen Staatsoper. Zudem gastierte er an den bedeutendsten Opernhäusern der Welt, von der Wiener Staatsoper über den Londoner Covent Garden und die Opéra national in Paris bis zur Metropolitan Opera in New York und den Bayreuther Festspielen.
