On 3 January 1970 John Lennon was holidaying in Denmark, and had essentially left the group anyway, so just Harrison, McCartney and Starr attended the session.

Based upon others comments, it sounds like George may have been frustrated with people around him being self-centered; however I'm sure he was well aware of the universal meaning in the words of this song, especially given his studies in Buddhism.
