The paper reconstructs and criticises Habermas' justification of his discourse ethics as well as of his interpretation. - (1) First the main theses of Habermas' discourse ethics are presented, especially the principle of universalization U and the principle of discourse ethics D. (2) Then a detailed analysis shows that Habermas' arguments for these principles are fallacious in various respects.
