Genghis Khan (born Temüjin; c. 1162 – August 1227), also known as Chinggis Khan, was the founder and first khan of the Mongol Empire.After spending most of his life uniting the Mongol tribes, he launched a series of military campaigns, conquering large parts of China and Central Asia.
Tolui is a direct ancestor of most of the Ilkhanids. Tolui (c.1191-1232) was the son of Genghis Khan and served as regent of the Mongol Empire until 1229. He was a distinguished military leader who played a key role in campaigns against the Jin dynasty, Western Xia, and Khwarezmia.
