The high point of the book was the cat-and-mouse game between a detective and a prime suspect: you go into the movie, a near-faithful adaptation but with some twists, hoping for the same level of smart engagement.
Suspect X is a very good adaption of Keigo Higashino's successful and claustrophobic crime novel that was a huge hit in Japan. Only a few and minor rearrangements have been made for this screen version.
