Imagine my surprise to see a 1935 newspaper clipping about the death of Thelma Todd, a longtime favorite of mine. The reason was simple: heiress and fashionista Gloria Vanderbilt just passed away at the age of 95.
Gorgeous blonde comedienne Thelma Todd was born in Massachusetts, where for two years she was a sixth-grade teacher at Lowell Normal School. After winning the Miss Massachusetts beauty contest in 1924, Todd was selected by producer Jesse L. Lasky to join Paramount Pictures' newly created school for young actors; the school lasted only one year, during which time Todd and her 15 "classmates" (among them Charles "Buddy" Rogers, later the husband of Mary Pickford) appeared in the Paramount film ...
Jul 18, 2016 · It is an excellent sourcebook for the Thelma Todd mystery, but perhaps go into it expecting a contextual study of media and communication in relation to myth than of a specifically Thelma Todd mystery relating tale. Side note: while well written, there are a number of spelling errors in the book.
