Jun 21, 2001 · Krishnankoil Venkatachalam Mahadevan (aka Mama) was a South Indian music composer. K.V.Mahadevan was born in Tamil Iyer family in 1918 in Krishnancoil, Kanyakumari district.
The soundtrack features 27 songs, with the musical score primarily composed by Ghantasala and K. V. Mahadevan, and the lyrics by Sadasivabrahmam and Samudrala Sr. (Telugu) and Maruthakasi (Tamil). The Telugu version of Lava Kusa was released on 29 March 1963, while the Tamil version was released the following month, on 19 April.
Viswanathan had always wanted to be an actor and singer, but was not successful. He had a few small roles in stage dramas in the 1940s. The composer and violinist T. R. Papa met Viswanathan, took a liking to him and arranged a job for him as an errand boy for S. V. Venkatraman's musical troupe in 1942.
