Abu'l-Fazl ibn Mubarak, also known as Abul Fazl, Abu'l Fadl and Abu'l-Fadl 'Allami (14 January 1551 – 22 August 1602), was an Indian writer, historian, and politician who served as the grand vizier of the Mughal Empire from his appointment in 1579, until his death in 1602.
Thus, Abul Fazl widened the range and scope of history as no medieval historian before him had done and his work is considered the most comprehensive account of the Mughal administration and state structure.

Third volume of above work is known as Ain-i-Akabari, which is the administrative report of Akbar’s reign.

ABUL FAZL (1551-1602), principal secretary-cum-minister to Akbar, the Mughal emperor. He was an accomplished man of learning and was the author of two celebrated works, A`iniAkbari and Akbar-nama, the former being a description of Akbar`s administrative system and the latter a chronicle of the events of his reign.
