Rather than a true sequel to Dracula (1931) and Dracula's Daughter (1936), it appears to be a continuity reboot, with Count Dracula's backstory adhering a bit closer to Bram Stoker's original novel than those two films. Lon Chaney Jr. plays Count Alucard, alias Dracula, who is implied to be the son of the Dracula rather than the man himself. Alucard buys a plantation in the Deep South region of the United States for the purpose of vampirizing local women.
