Jan 31, 2006 · Taro the Dragon Boy is a 1979 animated film from Toei animation studio directed by Kirio Urayama and cowritten by him and Takashi Mitsui. It has a slight link to Ghibli as Isao Takahata is credited with the original concept, but that's neither here nor there, if you're going to see this movie, I advise you do so because it sounds like a good movie to you and not because of the very faint link to Spirited Away etc.
