With a view to conserve water for the future, the Prime Minister has launched a new initiative named Mission Amrit Sarovar on 24th April 2022. The Mission is aimed at developing and rejuvenating 75 water bodies in each district of the country as a part of celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Hon’ble Prime Minister launched the mission on ‘Amrit Sarovar’ on 24th April 2022 with a vision to spread awareness about water conservation. The objective of the mission is to improve and rejuvenate 75 water bodies in each district of the country.

The mission aims to construct/rejuvenate at least 75 Amrit Sarovars in each district across India to overcome the water crisis in rural areas.
