Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology was established on January 15, 1974. The university is named after the educator and politician Acharya Narendra Devaa. The inauguration of the university happened at the hands of the then-honorable Prime Minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi.

Vision. The main vision of the University is to develop Agriculturally Prosperous and Nutritionally Secure Eastern Uttar Pradesh. To achieve this, the university is engaged in research on priority areas of agriculture as per the demand of the region and disseminates the knowledge to farmers with the help of 25 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) operational in 26 districts lying under university jurisdiction.
On January 15, 1974 the foundation stone of Narendra Dev University of Agriculture & Technology was laid by the then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India late Smt. Indira Gandhi at Mashodha near Faizabad city.
