Marinus Jacobus Hendricus "Rinus" Michels (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈrinʏs ˈmɪxəls] ⓘ; 9 February 1928 – 3 March 2005) was a Dutch football player and coach. [1] [2] He played his entire career for Ajax , which he later managed, and played for and later managed the Netherlands national team for four spells.
Rinus Michels, who played under Reynolds, later became manager of Ajax in 1965. Michels developed the tactics of Total Football after 1970, most importantly with the introduction of forward Johan Cruyff, perhaps the system's most famous exponent.
