Grischuk was the second-lowest rated player (2733), but finished ahead of Vassily Ivanchuk, Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand, earning a tournament performance rating of 2809.Later that year, Grischuk won the Russian Chess Championship; he was undefeated in the event.
